Netherlandish family of bronze-founders. During the second half of the 15th century three bronze-founders named van Thienen (also known by the family name, van Naenhoven) were active in Brussels. No firmly attributable works survive by Jan van Thienen or Peter van Thienen, and their relationship to (1) Renier van Thienen is unclear. One of Renier's three sons, (2) Renier van Thienen, also became a bronze-founder.
