Quick Reference

A growth factor (TPO, thrombopoiesis stimulating factor, TSF, 353 aa) that regulates the proliferation of megakaryocytes and platelet production (thrombopoiesis). Mutation causes essential thrombocythaemia. The receptor is c-mpl, a cytokine receptor that activates the JAK–STAT signalling pathway.
