In Navaho mythology, the water monster. Tieholtsodi was formerly an enemy of mankind, but now has become less antagonistic, though he is still believed to be responsible for cases of drowning. As king of the ocean, he was unable to resist the demands of Tonenili, the rain god, and Hastsezini, the fire god, when they rescued the first Navaho from the deep.
