Quick Reference

A descriptive term loosely age-related, describing a small child who is in the process of learning to walk, i.e., in the age range of about 9 to 18 months. The popular media often describe children aged 1 to 2 years as toddlers, and some pediatricians set a lower age range. It is a variable and vague period of early childhood, and because of the variability the term is preferably avoided.

Subjects: Public Health and Epidemiology.
