The process whereby momentum is transferred from one part of a body to another in accordance with the conservation of momentum principle. Airborne movements which include somersaulting and twisting generally involve a transfer of the somersaulting angular momentum, initiated during the takeoff, to the twisting angular momentum performed during the flight.
