A clinical triad of unilateral deafness, neuralgia affecting the mandibular branches of the trigeminal nerve, and defective mobility of the soft palate, first described by Wilfred Trotter in 1911. There may also be associated trismus. The condition is caused by malignant tumours invading the lateral wall of the nasopharynx.
