Quick Reference

The preliminary placement of teeth in wax as part of the process of constructing a complete or partial denture to evaluate the appearance and the correct relationship of the individual artificial teeth and arch forms to each other and to any natural teeth present. Where a significant number or all the teeth are being replaced, the try-in stage is normally preceded by jaw registration. Try-in paste is a resin composite or glycerine based material used to provisionally locate a porcelain veneer to check for fit and colour prior to cementation; the resin composite material may exclude a light sensitive initiator to give prolonged try-in time.
