Ballet in three acts with choreography by Ivanov, music by Baron Fitingoff-Shell (or Baron Boris Shel). Premiered 4 Oct. 1887 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, with Emma Bessone, Legat, and P. Gerdt. Emma, a Dutch peasant girl, is turned into a tulip; a kiss from her sweetheart Peter returns her to human form. It was Ivanov's first original full-length ballet.
