tuned circuit

Quick Reference

A resonant circuit in which there is a resonance at a certain frequency. The process of altering the characteristics of the circuit so that it resonates, i.e. its impedance is at its minimum, is called tuning the circuit. This is achieved either by altering the capacitance of the circuit, called capacitive tuning, or altering the inductance of the circuit, called inductive tuning.
