(1935– ;).

American architect. Believing that buildings should respond to sites, and that much that passes for architecture is mere packaging, he has attempted to enrich a poverty-stricken environment with buildings that help people to enjoy where they live and work. Among his works may be mentioned the Zimmermann House, Fairfax County, VA (1975), The Library and Cultural Center, Biloxi, MS (1977), the Allewelt House, Modesto, CA (1978), the Edwards House, Chappaquiddick, MA (1982), St Andrew's Church, Sonoma, CA (1992), and many other buildings.
