Quick Reference

A form of anemometer that uses several ultrasonic emitters/receivers to monitor the flow of air in the small area, a few centimetres across, between the transducers. Such anemometers are capable of determining vertical as well as horizontal motion, but are currently too expensive to be widely deployed at synoptic or climatological stations.
