Sometimes a matter of opinion rather than fact, these are diets that parents and others disapprove of for children. Pediatricians, nutritionists, and authors of magazine articles often object, but such diets are widely promoted in TV and other advertising. They cover a wide range but have some common features, including carbonated soft drinks with a high sugar content; fatty foods, especially foods with a high content of trans fats; and diets that contain little or no fresh fruit and vegetables. This is a vague term best avoided.
