The last round of trade talks under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade; this round started in 1986 and finished in 1994. The round managed for the first time to include some modest steps to restrict agricultural protection, and arrived at a new General Agreement on Trade in Services. It also covered reform of the Multi-Fibre Arrangement on international trade in textiles, and the question of intellectual property rights.
