The section of the Nonjurors who in 1719 accepted the Communion Service drawn up by J. Collier and others. They were so named from the four ‘usages’ which the new rite contained: the ‘mixed chalice’, prayers for the dead, a prayer for the descent of the Holy Spirit on the elements (Epiclesis), and an oblatory prayer.
