One of three pre-Islamic goddesses worshiped at the Kaaba in Mecca prior to the rise of Islam. Goddess of strength, she is identified as a daughter of Allah, since she was supposed to be the offspring of Allah's marriage to jinn. Usually represented as a sacred tree. The idol representing her was destroyed in 630 when Muhammad and the Muslims conquered Mecca. Denounced in the Quran (53:19–20).
