Quick Reference

(d. c.304),

Bp. of Pettau, the modern Ptuj, in Slovenia. He is the earliest known exegete of the Latin Church, but nearly all his works are lost, probably because of the millenarianist tendencies which caused them to be condemned as apocryphal by the ‘Decretum Gelasianum’. Of his commentaries only that on Rev. survives. The treatise De Fabrica Mundi is almost certainly his. Feast day, 2 Nov.

Subjects: Christianity.
