A method of testing the ability of a witness to identify an offender by picking him out from a number of similar video clips showing the suspect and a number of other people of broadly similar appearance in similar circumstances. The method has taken over from identification parades as the primary method of identification. The procedures to be used are laid down in the Codes of Practice to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
