With Madanmohan Tarkālaṇkār, he started the Sanskrit Press and Depository in Calcutta (Kolkata) (1847). The press's first title was Bhāratcandra's Annadāmangal (1847), and it annually printed c.50,000 copies of the famous primer Barṇaparicay. The press was sold in 1884.
