(1921–2006) Robert Vinter was with the University of Michigan School of Social Work for 31 years. He joined the faculty in 1954 after earning his MSW degree in psychology and his PhD degree from Columbia University. While at the Michigan School of Social Work he taught masters- and doctoral-level courses and conducted research studies. He served as associate dean from 1964 to 1970 and as acting dean from 1970 to 1971. He served as the Arthur Dunham Professor of Social Work prior to his retirement in 1985.
