A post-Kimmeridgian stage (142–150.8 Ma ago) in the northern European Upper Jurassic which is distinguished from the Tithonian to the south) by its Boreal (see boreal realm) ammonite (Ammonoidea) fauna. Some authors equate it broadly with the Portlandian.
