A faint constellation of the northern sky, representing a fox. Its brightest star, Alpha Vulpeculae, is of magnitude 4.4. It contains the striking star cluster known popularly as the Coathanger. M27 is the Dumbbell Nebula, a large planetary nebula. The first pulsar was discovered in Vulpecula.
