Quick Reference

An inhibitor (p21, cip1, cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A, 164 aa) of cyclin-dependent kinase (cdk) activity that forms a complex with cyclins A, D1, and E, and CDK2. Waf1 can inhibit all cdks, although to a variable extent, and its expression is regulated by the p53 tumour suppressor.
