Swedish Free Churchman. He put forward a theory of the Atonement which was inconsistent with Lutheran orthodoxy: humanity had to be reconciled to God, not God to humanity, and God sent His Son, not in wrath but in love. Waldenström founded the largest sectarian movement in Sweden.
