Australian dancer. She studied at the Australian Ballet School and with M. Besobrasova in Monte Carlo, joining Australian Ballet in 1972 and becoming soloist (1975) and principal (1978). She remained with the company until 1989 apart from two seasons with Petit's Ballet National de Marseilles (1977–8 and 1980–1), and other international guest engagements. Her personality and dramatic intelligence made her renowned in a variety of roles from the classics through to the modern repertory of Kylián, Béjart, etc. She created roles in Murphy's Tekton (1978) and Beyond Twelve (1987) and Tetley's Orpheus (1987), among others. After retiring she worked as a producer and teacher in her own school.
