The cathedral church of St Peter and St Paul, Washington, DC, is the seat of the Bp. of Washington in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. It is known as the ‘National Cathedral’, but has no extra-diocesan status. A vast cruciform building in 14th-cent Gothic style, it was begun in 1907 and completed in 1990.
