WD-repeat proteins

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

Proteins that contain the WD40 motif, a conserved sequence (~40 aa) usually ending with tryptophan (W) and aspartic acid (D) (but with a nod to water dispersant 40, WD40, the well-known aerosol lubricant), that is implicated in protein–protein interactions. The seven WD-repeats in the GTP-binding protein β subunit form a propeller-like structure with seven blades.
