Quick Reference

A set of laboratory tests which evaluate the performance of a Web server. There are a number of Webstone benchmarks in existence, all providing an heterogeneous mix of Web server requests, ranging from those which are simple and require very little data to be returned by the server, to those which require large amounts of data. Such tests are normally used to carry out comparisons between Web servers. The name is a pun on the Whetstone tests used to compare the performance of computer systems.
