Welsh Baccalaureate

Quick Reference

A new, broader post‐16 qualification piloted since 2003 and offered at Advanced and Intermediate levels from September 2007 in 76 approved centres. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service allocates 120 tariff points to the core qualification. Students who successfully complete the Welsh Baccalaureate at Advanced Level will therefore have the equivalent of an A grade General Certificate of Education Advanced Level in addition to the points they earn from their optional studies.
