(d London, 24 Feb. 1553). Flemish composer. He lived in London from c.1520 until his death, serving as lutenist and keeper of instruments to Henry VIII. His music, mostly chansons, appears to have been better known in England than that of his more famous contemporaries, such as Gombert and Willaert.
