A writer of whom little is known. His work includes The Painful Adventures of Pericles Prince of Tyre (1608), a prose tale based partly on Shakespeare's Pericles, and also on Laurence Twine's The Pattern of Painful Adventures. Wilkins is sometimes supposed to have had a hand in Pericles, too.
