(b. 1982).

Elder son of Charles, prince of Wales, and Princess Diana, and second in line to the throne, William was educated initially at Wetherby preparatory school and at Ludgrove. Eton, then a gap year, preceded further studies at St Andrews university. A tall, personable young man, with a striking resemblance to his mother, he is already attracting the media attention that pursued her. After taking a degree in Geography, the prince joined the Blues and Royals Regiment of the Household Cavalry, where he is known as William Wales. In 2008 he gained his pilot's licence in the Royal Air Force.
