British architects, of Bath. The elder Wood began the architectural transformation of Bath, developing Queen Square (completed 1734) and pressing ahead with his scheme for a Circus and Forum, and designing Prior Park (1735–48). The Circus, a miniature, inside-out version of the Roman Colosseum, was completed by the younger Wood, who extended the project to the Crescent.
