Quick Reference

(fl. 1443–76).

English mason. He worked as master-mason at King's College Chapel, Cambridge, before Simon Clerk took over in 1477. Before that, he was at All Souls College, Oxford, working under Reginald Ely on the Chapel. He seems to have been employed at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and had connections with that county. A Robert Worlich (fl. 1492–1524) of Bury St Edmunds, perhaps a son or grandson of John, was one of the Wardens of Masons at King's College Chapel under Wastell from 1508 to 1515.
