Quick Reference

An inheritable disease caused by a gene on the X chromosome. Most X-linked characteristics are recessive. A male with a recessive gene on his X chromosome passes his X chromosomes to his daughter, where the chromosomes will be masked if the daughter does not have the same gene or be expressed if his female partner carries the same gene.
