Japanese percussionist and composer. Percussionist in Kyoto PO and Osaka PO 1961. Début as soloist in Milhaud conc. with Osaka PO 1963. Played with jazz quintet in USA. Aldeburgh Fest. 1970 when he scored success in Henze's El Cimarrón. Remarkable virtuoso perf. Founder‐member of Red Buddha Th. 1970 Composer of scores for nearly 100 Japanese films and of works for own perf.
