A form of yogic trance in which the practitioner is in full control of his mind, but oblivious to the external world. The term is also used to characterize Viṣṇu's cosmic sleep in the interval that comes between two world periods (kalpas). In the Devī Mahātmya, Viṣṇu's yoganidrā is portrayed as synonymous with Devī.
