A diet containing no fat. If you eat natural foods, it is almost impossible to have a zero fat intake. Consequently, zero fat diets are composed of artificial foods, usually in the form of powders and drinks. They are bought in the mistaken belief that all fat is bad for you. On the contrary, certain fats are an essential part of a balanced diet. A truly zero fat diet is harmful and would result in potentially fatal metabolic disorders. See also essential fatty acid.
