An enterotoxin (399 aa) released by Vibrio cholerae that binds to a receptor on intestinal epithelial cells and increases the permeability of tight junctions. The active domain of the toxin is a hexapeptide (AT-1002), that causes redistribution of ZO-1 away from junctions.
