US dancer, teacher, and director. He studied with Preobrajenska, Eglevsky, and others and danced with the companies of Rubinstein (1933–4), Nijinska (1934), Woizikowski (1935–8), Rio de Janeiro Opera House (1939), and Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo (1931–41). He founded his own school in Miami in 1949, became director of Miami Conservatory of Music and Dance, and in 1951 was founder-artistic director of Miami Ballet, named artistic director emeritus in 1995.
