As pianist gave f.p. of Howells's 1st pf. conc., London 1914, and of Lambert's pf. conc., London 1931. Works incl. operas (incl. The Devil Take Her (1931) and A Tale of Two Cities (1949–50); ballet Orlando's Silver Wedding (1951); sym. (1941–5); pf. concertino (1927–8); vn. conc. (1932); harmonica conc.
