US Army GHQ Tokyo, 1946, when he directed Japanese première of Sullivan's The Mikado. Prof. of mus., Indiana Univ. 1968–77, then head of piano dept., Curtis Inst. Soundtrack pianist in film biography of Liszt, Song Without End (1960). Outstanding player of Liszt.
