A leader of the Milesians and the builder of a famous tower in the pseudo-history Lebor Gabála, [Book of Invasions]. After travelling across the Mediterranean, the Milesians land in Spain (here, ‘Land of the Dead’), where Breogan builds a tall tower at Brigantia (Braganza, Portugal?) to protect his territory. From this tower Breogan's son Ith sees Ireland across the sea and decides to set sail to investigate the island. Breogan is also the father of Bile and Fuad, the eponym of Sliab Fúait (Slieve Fuad).
