Quick Reference

*Calcium-binding proteins with lectin-like domains that are found in the endoplasmic reticulum where they act as chaperones for newly synthesized proteins, in conjunction with calnexin. There are two forms, calreticulin-1 (calregulin, high-affinity calcium-binding protein, HACBP, 417 aa) and calreticulin-2 (calreticulin-3, 384 aa).
