Quick Reference

A hill in Co. Sligo, much cited in Fenian narratives. Known in English as Keshcorran, the hill (1183 feet) is 4 miles SE of Ballymote, near Lough Arrow. Diarmait asked for Céis Chorainn as part of Gráinne's dowry. In some versions of their story, the fugitive lovers lived here for a number of years and raised several children. Here Caílte mac Rónáin earned his name, and Fionn was bewitched by hags.
