A Native American people that inhabited the region of modern northern Alabama and Mississippi, and southern Tennessee, and were descendants of the late prehistoric Mississippi cultures. They sided with the British in the 18th century and were attacked by the French and French Native American allies. They were forcibly moved to the Oklahoma Indian Territory in the 1830s.
