martyr of Aquileia. According to the Passion of St Anastasia, he was a Roman official who was imprisoned under Diocletian and beheaded at Aquileia, and whose body was recovered from the sea by Christians. His cult spread to Rome where the church founded by another Chrysogonus was dedicated to him. He was mentioned in the Roman Canon. Feast: 24 November, the dedication day of the Roman Church.
