A British or P-Celtic people of Scotland noted in Ptolemy's geography (2nd cent. ad). Their homeland was beyond the Antonine Wall on the Kintyre peninsula, in what was until 1974 Argyllshire. Several commentators have asserted that their name implies a worship of the goddess Epona. Previously thought to be Pictish. Sometimes named the Equidii.
