Quick Reference

A multifunctional docking protein (human enhancer of filamentation 1, neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally downregulated-9, NEDD-9, Cas-L, 835 aa) of the Cas family that is involved in both integrin and growth factor signalling pathways. There are two isoforms, p105 and p115, the larger resulting from serine/threonine phosphorylation of p105HEF1. It can stimulate the formation of neurite-like processes and has been shown to interact with aurora A kinase at the basal body of cilia causing phosphorylation and activation of a tubulin deacetylase (HDAC6), thereby promoting ciliary disassembly.
