Was a great-great-grandson of Hywel Dda and ruled Deheubarth from c.1033 until 1044. Reigning jointly at first with a brother, Maredudd (d. 1035), he was expelled by Gruffydd ap Llywelyn c.1042. He took refuge in Ireland, returned with Viking support, but was killed on the Towy.
