Neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience: a questionnaire designed to measure the Big Five personality factors, namely those three plus agreeableness, and conscientiousness. The original NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), constructed by the US psychologists Paul T. Costa (born 1942) and Robert R. McCrae (born 1949) and first published in the journal Psychological Assessment in 1992, comprised 60 items, and the subsequent longer version, called the NEO Personality Inventory-Revised (NEO-PI-R) comprises 243 items.
